Ventured back to the gym for the first time in four weeks today. I can’t remember the last time I went that long without doing any exercise, but I can’t say I’ve felt like going with this cough/cold thing that’s doing the rounds. I decided to take it relatively easy, and just did 5k on the treadmill followed by some resistance work and stretching. It felt good to use my muscles again, but my legs were a bit wobbly afterwards.
I’ve signed up forĀ a couple more events over the past few weeks. The 12k Pudding Catcher in Southampton in mid-December (nice to see the organisers have a sense of humour – who said runners were all boring?). And also the Hastings half-marathon next March, which will make a change from Reading and Bath. Will I break two hours? Who knows…
